Although bright orange, this 'flower' cannot feed
butterflies until the center flowers open.
A Gulf Fritillary (Agraulis vanillae) drinks nectar
from the true flowers of a Zinnia bloom.
A tattered zinnia highlights the true 'flower' ...
the yellow flowers in the middle of the 'flower'.
