If you start with eggs or caterpillars, you will need host or larval food plants. Each species has it own specific plant(s) you MUST feed to them. If you are purchasing a Butterfly Vivarium or Butterfly Garden Basket, their host plant is provided. If you do not have a host plant for your caterpillars, please purchase or locate an appropriate and SAFE (insecticide free) host plant for your little hungry critters. Please be aware that plants which are certified organic can be deadly to your caterpillars. |
