Butterfly of the Month Club

Experience metamorphosis ...raise your own butterfly in your home!
A butterfly caterpillar and host plant will be shipped to your address each warm month of your year.

Your initial shipment includes your butterfly caterpillar, a stand-up net tabletop rearing cage with one clear side, a host plant, a pot cover, lifecycle page about your butterfly species for that month, instructions on how to tell when your caterpillar is about to pupate, instructions on how to tell when your caterpillar is about to emerge, and full rearing instructions all for $30 (Plus Shipping). Due to varying weight of plants, shipping price may be different than actual charge shown, we will save you money if we can.

Each shipment thereafter will include your butterfly caterpillar, a host plant, a lifecycle page about your butterfly species for that month, and full instructions all for $17 plus shipping.

Chrysalises may be included for an additional $5 per chrysalis.

Additional caterpillars, chrysalises, plants, and other pertinent items are available if you prefer to add them to your shipment to enjoy and save on shipping costs.

Join the club by sending an email to edith@buyabutterfly.com. Due to USDA restrictions and weather differences between states, we prefer to talk privately via email with each person signing up for the club!

You will be notified one week prior to shipment! We do not want your package to arrive when you are unable to care for your caterpillar or when you will be away from home during the metamorphosis process. If you will not be home for that delivery date, simply email us and we will delay your shipment until the date you choose.

Shipping expense depends upon your state. Please send us an email with your zip code and we'll send you a shipping estimate!

Any club member may cancel membership at any time without penalty of any kind!

The USDA governs transportation of butterflies across state lines.

** States west of the Continental Divide will receive Monarch larvae dropshipped from a butterfly farm on the western side of the Continental Divide. The USDA does not allow shipment of Monarchs across the divide.

All other species are $5 each. Quantitiy may be limited.)
